| Description: | Solvent Based Bitumen Primer Item Code: ShaliTex_Primer ShaliTex Primer is a solvent based bitumen primer that seals pores in surfaces such as concrete and improves the adhesion of bituminous materials that are to be applied to the substrate. It is suitable for brush or spray application. It conforms to the requirement of IS : 3384-1986. Areas of Application: ShaliTex Primer is applied on concrete and masonry surfaces prior to application of torch applied, self adhesive & general membranes so as to promote bonding of the bitumen with the concrete. It is applied on concrete surface and masonry prior to application of mastic asphalt for floor surfaces. It is also applied in canal lining gaps and concrete floor joints prior to pouring of the bitumen sealing compound for bonding of the bitumen to the gaps. Application Methodology: Before applying the primer make the concrete surfaces free from dust and sand particles by brooming and allow it to dry. Concrete should be cured and eight days old. ShaliTex Primer should be thoroughly stirred before use and applied to the substrate by means of brush, roller or spray at the rate of 0.3 ltr/sqm. Allow it to dry for 24 hours. Packaging: ShaliTex Primer is available in 20 litre & 200 litre drums. Storage: Keep away from open flame. Use within 12 months of date of manufacture. Precaution: The primer should not be applied when the temperature is less than 50C or when the weather is foggy.
