| Description: | Black Bituminous Coating Item Code: TankMastic Our company is engaged in manufacturing and exporting a wide range of TankMastic, which has a multipurpose, anti-corrosive, black bituminous coating and is covered by IS: 9862/1981 as well IS: 158/1981. These are used for protecting the internal surface of storage water tanks, pipes against corrosion. Features: Anti-corrosive Tasteless Odourless Non-toxic Black bituminous coating Characteristics: Color Semi Glossy black when dry Consistency Uniform and applicable by brush or spray gun Drying time Touch dry in 2-4 hrs hard drying within 8 hrs Coverage: On metal surface 12 sqm per ltr. On concrete surface 8 sqm per ltr. Dry film thickness Per coat in microns: 50-60 Specific gravity: 0.92 Flash point: 35°C Areas of application: A corrosion protection coating for all types of iron, steel, masonry or concrete surfaces Used for coating of steel drums Suitable for coating the insides of both masonry and steel water tanks as it is non-toxic odourless and tasteless Advantages: It can be easily and quickly applied by brush or spray gun and dries rapidly leaving a black glossy finish The resultant film is tough and elastic and does not crack easily due to structural movements It is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis It is non toxic and does not impart odour or taste to water on contact No harmful reaction with drinking water Application methodology: The base metal should be cleaned thoroughly either by sand blasting or by any other suitable method Before application the surface should made totally dry, free from moisture, oil grease, mill scale or rust For metallic surfaces, primer is not required. However, for better performance a coat of STP Limited’s ShaliTex® Primer is recommended For concrete or other porous surfaces a coat of STP Limited’s ShaliTex® primer is required The primer should be allowed to dry hard TankMastic® has to be stirred properly before applying It is then applied using a brush or spray gun Two coats are recommended for concrete and three coats for metallic surfaces | |
